FUNCTIONS:
- Provide
development and training for potential and funded pilot study
investigators related to health promotion theory and research
methods by: (1) providing seminars for pilot investigators,
and (2) continuing to provide consultation, web-based information,
and colloquia on theory-driven interventions, design of clinical
trials, and state-of-the-art analytic strategies for intervention
data analysis;
- Expand
and continue to maintain centralized computing hardware, software,
related support services, and resource lists related to application
of advanced statistical methods, measurement of health promotion/disease
prevention indicators, and access to and analysis of national
databases on underserved populations by (1) providing colloquia
with a focus on methodological issues in health promotion, and
(2) adding new linkages to the CHPR website such as links to
nationally available instruments and datasets.
Maintain a library of source materials related to theoretical
models and research methods pertaining to health promotion/disease
prevention;
Provide access to services for the analysis of biomedical laboratory
data;
- Continue
to coordinate TIMC consultations, workshops, and colloquia with
activities of other Cores to maximize integration of Center
activities and activities of affiliates.
- Continue
to explore emerging technologies for usability and applicability
for health promotion/disease prevention research.
