  What is Healthy People 2010

It is a national health promotion and disease prevention initiative that brings together national, State, and local government agencies; nonprofit, voluntary, and professional organizations; businesses; communities; and individuals to promote the two overall goals of:
  • Increased quality of life and years of healthy life
The first goal is to help individuals of all ages increase their life expectancy and improve their quality of life.
  • Elimination of health disparities
