EPSILON THETA CHAPTER GOALS FOR 2007-2008

Chapter leadership met and agreed to the following goals. We invite all members to help accomplish these goals.

1. Do one mailing to inactive members.
2. Hold Founder’s Day Event on Wednesday,
   October 3, 2007.
3. Each Board member and Committee Chair commit to activating five inactive members.
4. Increase attendance at Fall and Spring Events.
5. Increase community membership.

FOUNDERS DAY CELEBRATION

Please mark your calendars for the Founders Day Celebration. Join us for afternoon tea, 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at the University of Texas School of Nursing, in the Mutipurpose Room on the ground floor.
 

INDUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS ON MAY 17, 2007

Last spring, the Epsilon Theta chapter of STTI voted to accept the intent to apply of 65 students -- 31 baccalaureate students and 34 graduate students (Master's and PhD).

62 applicants completed the process and were inducted into the Chapter on May 17, 2007. The induction ceremony and dinner was held at the University of Texas Club. The Honorable Donna Howard was the invited speaker.

Representative Howard (D-Austin, District 48) reviewed action of the House as it related to nursing and health care. One special focus was on the nursing shortage and measures designed to alleviate the shortage.

She encouraged new inductees to be actively involved in the development of policy that impacts nursing and health care.

March 19, 2008 – Spring Research Program at St. David’s in Austin

March 26, 2008 – Annual Business Meeting (presentation of officer reports, election of officers and approval of candidates for induction)

April 17, 2008 – Evening Research Dinner at 7:00 p.m. in Salado, co-sponsored with Mary Hardin Baylor School of Nursing Tau Epsilon chapter

May 15, 2008 - STTI Epsilon Theta Induction Ceremony and Banquet at the University of Texas Club
